Conference “Directions of Economic Policy and Regional Stability in the Countries of the Caucasus and Central Asia”

n February 25–26, 2026, a regional conference entitled “Directions of Economic Policy and Regional Stability in the Countries of the Caucasus and Central Asia” was held in Almaty, Republic of Kazakhstan. The event was organized by the Regional Capacity Development Center for the Caucasus, Central Asia, and Mongolia of the International Monetary Fund (IMF).


The two-day regional conference consisted of 8 sessions, during which participants discussed the role and functions of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), monetary policy and inflation management, fiscal policy — building reserves under conditions of uncertainty, diversification and structural reforms for economic growth, the development of the labor market in the Caucasus and Central Asia region, as well as several other important issues.

From the Turkmen side, the regional conference was attended by Ruslan Jumayev, Head of the Department of Economic Theory of the Turkmen State Institute of Finance, and Abdykerim Mukhanov, Head of the Department of Finance of the Turkmen State Institute of Economics and Management.


The Turkmen speakers emphasized that as a result of the economic reforms implemented in our country by the esteemed President, sustainable growth is being achieved, the financial and monetary systems are functioning effectively, the standard of living of the population is improving due to the successful implementation of tax and budget policy, and the ongoing economic policy is based on scientific research. This, in turn, confirms that despite the challenges occurring in the global economy, the macroeconomic indicators of Turkmenistan continue to demonstrate steady growth rates.
